Poor David is still having trouble with stepson, Max. He’s done well to tell the Police that the conniving teenager has been making death threats online.
What a disgraceful thing to do. If Max disowns David, then he can devote his time to someone more deserving of it.

Rob, what do you think when actors say stuff like 5'6, 5'7 on a good day.
Do you think they are openly lying? or do you think maybe they just don't care, and measured themselves at like 5'5 and 3 quarters, rounded it to 5'6. Maybe done it again in shoes and got 5'7 and was like ''oh nice'' haha.

David has been a good father to Max, yet his jealousy has led to the contemptible little scrote jumping to false conclusions when he finds an excerpt of a love poem amongst Summer Spellman's property. (He has a crush on the poor lass since she helped him with his school work). Who does he think he is, going through her stuff in the first place? Now he's put Rob Mallard's teacher character's career and reputation in jeopardy.
It's not David's fault at all. He must be tearing his hair out, though personally, I'd far sooner tear the hair out of the lying little weasel stepson of his....! 😝😤

Suddenly, he's shot up - yup, a different actor! - and is using people in a corrupt and thoughtless way.
David's only a small fellow weighing in at 8 stone and that erring Max is going to shoot up and become a real threat.
As a fellow patient said to me in hospital, today's Soaps are very adult-rated.

I remember only too well when Jack's David Platt was brattish and annoying, which wasn't surprising after what he'd had to endure courtesy of his mother's dangerous taste in boyfriends.
He has well and truly grown up now, bringing up his kids and doing his best to keep his wife in line after she so tragically got caught up in a Christmas crossfire, ending up in a coma.
Now, her consciousness back in full swing, his wife seems to be teetering on a second, and very michievous, childhood, having found it hugely amusing to spill a drink over one of David's customers. "I'm seeing to the next one", he tells her. "She's our most difficult...."
David works in his Nan's hairdressers, which, upon her demise, the salon becomes his. Grandma Audrey signed it over to David, and I must say, I thought it was a strange decision to make, but not now. He's become a pillar of Society, with a great sense of humour - and responsibility.
Good luck to him for that. The young man has been through so, so much, with his former wife being shot in the street, dying in his arms.
Blimey, if his character was real, he'd be deserving of a medal.

As David walked to the chip shop with wife Shona, there was very little difference in it, if at all. Shona, played by Julia Goulding, had sneakers on, as did David. They looked one another straight in the face.

He didn't look at all below average just now in the kitchen with his Mum and his sister, both of whom only just top the 5ft mark. I remember reading a comment on Jack's page a while back describing how the writer of said comment had seen the actor and that he was truthful about his height, and could even achieve as much as 5ft7 in the morning.
I don't see as much as 5ft7, but 5ft6 is distinctly believable.

Funny David crossed out the word 'Mother' and wrote 'Gail' instead, but that is what he calls her. My own Mum would have hit the roof if I'd shown so little respect!
A few years back, the last line would have been a positive insult, but since David became a Dad, he's turned into a loving and responsible human being. He hasn't had an easy time of it in this Soap, either. His Mum married a murderous nutcase when he was still a child, who attempted to kill the whole family. Then many years on, David's wife was slain in the street, and when he found love again, his new wife ended up brain-damaged after a Christmas tragedy. He was also drugged and raped, but the evil attacker got his comeuppance, and is now serving a prison sentence.
David maintains a cheerful disposition, and loves his kids. In my mind, that makes him a true hero! 🥇

How can the Courts put David through that disgusting questioning as if he's the guilty party? He was raped, for crying out loud. Is it surprising that so many rape victims let their attackers get away with their heinous crimes? Steps have to be taken to do something about this - post haste.

As for Jack, his character has gone full circle, as he is now a responsible and loving parent, whereas due to early turmoil in his life, he was a bit of a Jack the Lad. His brother Nick, (played by Ben Price) on the other hand, has turned into a real stinker, ripping off his own grandmother of £80,000 to settle up with his spurned ex-wife and cajole his way into the thoroughly decent Carla Connor's factory business, 'Underworld'.
I did approve of the way Jack's David extracted the relevant information out of his dirt-bag bruv, though, giving him a shave; it reminded me of Sweeney Todd! I'm bloody glad I don't have to shave - if I was a man, I'd stick with a beard!
Yet again, 5ft6, based on an earlier comment from someone who'd actually seen him and also to prevent him from burping in my ear!

On Friday night's second showing, Jack did a burp as loud as any 16 stone lumberjack! I had taken my eyes of the screen, buy that noise certainly made me look up!
After that, I'm not going to lower his height from the 5ft6 I gave him last time. He might creep up behind me and burp in my ear! 🙊😠

I'm delighted to have spent the last 50 minutes of my life watching the repeat of 'The Big Quiz', starring some members of the casts from 'Coronation Street' and 'Emmerdale'. Jack captained the 'Coronation Street' team and Mark Charnock the 'Emmerdale' side, who just about won the contest!
Little Jack and tall Mark had to go out onto the streets and collect as many selfies with willing passers-by as they could. It was great fun and a fine opportunity to see their heights!
Today I can muster up 5ft6 for Jack!

Jack is known to wear Cat Boots on the show which give him an edge so I think Julia Goulding (Shona) would measure slightly taller barefoot, I would say 167cm at most for him.

I hope that the heroics of David in reporting this incident will encourage every man in a similar situation to do likewise, the sick antics of men like that evil Josh need to be stopped and the sooner they are brought to justice the better. I really hope that we see justice and Josh really is deserving of a very big punishment, one which may put an end to his evil ways. He should not escape prison for what he did.

@ Nik - I'm so pleased this guy plucked up the courage to report that cowardly little game-player once he'd discovered, with the ever-faithful Shona's help, that he'd done it before. If that young guy had reported the incident, it would never have happened again, and David knows that. He's breaking this sick cycle and that evil Josh will get his come-uppence!

In January I had to start asking for an email because in the future I needed a way to identify anybody who ever wanted to see a list of comments.
If they used a real email and emailed with a request like that, then I'd be able to help...
But if they used a made-up email, then I can't really identify them.

Isn't 8 stone a bit skinny for a guy of Jack's 5ft5.5? Maybe he has filled out since that particular time because he didn't look overly undernourished in the boxing ring a few weeks back!
Furthermore he has grown a beard and I think he has made a conscious effort to look more manly, and that has probably included building himself up!
I remember when he was a tiny little boy; he's a proper man now, and a very good actor! 🏆

His proportions help him look taller on camera. I have quite a similar build to him and am 168-166 range from morning to night, and can fool some people for 5ft 6.5-7 range. Having a slim frame with a small head and quite a long neck can always make you appear taller in some pictures, and I am sure that it will also help Jack when on screen to give off the illusion of having slightly more height.

I think that Jack is more than likely in the 5'5.25" - 5'5.5" range. He certainly looks, at least close to, 3 inches shorter than Sue Cleavet, who invidentally looks the same height as 5'8" guy Charlie Condou!

I think he is no more than 5'5" to be honest, he probably is about this and I doubt that he is close to 5'6". I wouldn't rule out 5'5.5" but that would be tops.
He seems like a sound person and he is a good actor! Furthermore he is originally from Leeds too, which is about 12 miles from where I live!
