Ian Puleston-Davies Height

Welsh actor, best known for playing Owen Armstrong in TV soap Coronation Street. Early in his career, he gave a reasonably honest height, that of 5 feet 6 ½ inches.

Ian was unrecognisable in yesterday’s DI Ray! Gone was the northern accent, and although he was made to look that much older, his authoritarian part made him seem taller.

I saw Ian last night in an episode of 'The Street'. He plays the father of a young soldier who returns from serving in the army badly disfigured. I haven't yet finished the episode, but yet again, I was deceived into thinking that Ian looked a little taller; I certainly saw enough of it to make an informed judgement about this guy's height. He gets 5ft6.75 from the evidence of the 2009 episode.

Another none-too-tall soap star, but I must admit, I thought he was nearer average than that! I would have given Ian an inch more. I respect the honesty involved in admitting that he's just over 5-and-a-half feet, and he's gone up in my estimation!
He hasn't earnt any credit for the parts he plays, however! Let's face it, he plays ****s and if he isn't playing them he plays *****s of ****!
Throughout the relatively brief period of time he played Owen in Coronation Street, I saw him appear in several old crime thrillers - always as a baddie! You can get some quite likeable baddies, but not in his case! His parts are quite contemptible - each and every one of them, trust me! After a while, you just expect him to play seedy little creeps!
Perhaps that contributed to my thinking that he was taller! It must be said that he is rather well-built, without being fat. He has the sort of burly look which adds height rather than deducts! Well, I think so anyway! 😛

Wow he's barely recognisable in that pic from his early career, actually reminds me a bit of Glenn facially as well in height there. Good to see he's honest about his height, I figured around 169 range for him.

Editor Rob he followed Glenn in many ways. Starts out his career with 5ft 6.5, then gets a decent role and claims 5ft 8 in later years.
