@ Rob - George did tend to star with chaps who seemed either average or just below that mark. He made a splendid con merchant in Minder and always made me laugh. I believe you can catch the show on ITV4 on weekday mornings. 👌🏼

George is playing a hoodlum in Midsomer Murders. He’s killed a man (Donald Sinden) to get even for a crime that had taken place in the 30s, and he doesn’t care that he’ll be spending the rest of his life locked up.
Peak height - 5ft8.5, though he looked much shorter in this drama.

I think he has every right to be seriously hacked off!

At George Cole's funeral in 2015 Dennis Waterman was standing with Patrick Malahide a lot, and the height difference was maybe a little less than it used to be, probably on account of greater height loss acceleration on Malahide's part due to Waterman only being about 65. Or maybe it was the same difference. In any case it all seems to add up to maybe a 6ft and a bit peak for Malahide.

Rob, could we have a page for Patrick Malahide? He was prominent at George Cole's funeral and prominent on our screens for 5-10 years in Minder, a ridiculously high rated show in terms of audience figures. I'd start the bidding at 6ft and a half inch.

Editor RobHe was in a production with janet mcteer at that height and they seemed pretty close, so somewhere 183 to 4 maybe be possible, nowadays, last I remember in Game of Thrones he seemed 5ft 11 range, but of course lost height I'm sure by 70's.

Looks about right. In 1975 he looked very close in height to John Hurt although possibly had a faint edge. By the last series of minder probably 5ft8 flat.
