Gary plays such a brave man in 'The Stand'. Even when he breaks his leg, and the other three have to continue without him, nothing can bring his spirits down. The little Labrador, 🐶Kojak, stays with him to keep him company until Tom 🌝 comes along on a horse and rescues him.
This epic four-partner ends with the birth of his and Fran's baby girl. Fran is played by Molly Ringwald. It's a very emotional watch and had me in tears many times, but the ones at the end were definitely happy ones. 😉

Nah, Gary is not taller than he claims. Mel Gibson had a solid inch on him in Ransom, although Mel wore these thick boots in the film: Click Here but Joaquin Phoenix also claims 5'8" and he was always within an inch or less of Mel's height so I'd say Gary was a weaker 5'8" than Phoenix and Frank, who met many people from the site, thought he was more 5'7.5"-5'8" as opposed to 5'8"+. Judging by this recent pic, I'd say Gary is more likely to have shrunk than Mel as the difference has increased: Click Here

I stood literally inches from him waiting for a table at the Chili's restaurant on Ramstein Airbase in Germany. I am 5'10" and he is definitely 5'8", no more no less. He also smells really good!

I saw Gary Sinise perform live once in California. I couldn’t tell how tall he was from where I was standing in the crowd. I’d say anywhere from 5’ 7”- 5’ 8” is reasonable.

I met him on a flight from phoenix to los Angeles in 1996. I'm 5'6 1/2. I stood face to face with him and he was right around my height. I'd say 5'7 give or take 1/2 an inch.

This is generous. Me and my wife met him on our post when his band played for July 4th. She is exactly 5'8 at night and was wearing flats (less than 1/2 heel). She was a slight bit taller then him and he had some type of boot that at the least gave 1 inch. He is no more then 5' 7 1/2. Nice guy but looks way taller in the movies.

Saw him tonight at the Movieco theater in Thousand Oaks, CA. We stood within 10 feet or so from him while we waiting for our car at the valet station. 5' 8" sounds about right, maybe a little smaller. He did this move where he walked out of the movie and kept his head down as he walked and then for another 10 min. before our car came. He seemed not to want to be bothered so we left him alone.

Gary in my honest opinion I would say that Gary is between 5,8-5,9 no taller than 5,9 the reason I say that is because i agree he's around Cruse height but he worked in a lot of movie's with Tom Hanks, Hanks is straight up 6 feet he had to look down at him which lead me to believe 5,8 if he was 5,9 his eye's would have been at hanks nose line so which lead me to 5,8 but in a lot of those CSi: NY eposide the could have done whateveer ther want and one of the actors in there AJ Bucky he's 5,10 and they made him look taller than him a lot of the times but bottom line end of statement I believe 5,8 I can't get the picture in this comment thing but in one of the CSI: NY episode he had a secondary weapon in his leg and I spotted the dress show that he had on it had a bit of height to it so in my believe I personally 5,8.

I agree with CWG below. He sat right next to me in church this morning in West Hills, CA. I'm exactly 5'10" and Gary was a tad under me. 5'8" too low for him. He's at least 5'9". Shook his hand, and the guy was very nice.

glenn and gary are about the same height. gary may be a hair taller and he gets an extra boost from his boots vs glenn's shoes which i believe are usually adidas? gary is 5-8 and surprisingly honest, like joaquin phoenix. both could claim 5-9 and easily get away with it, possibly 5-10.

I have to agree with Glenn. He looks taller than 5'8ish guys on CSI New York. He could be 5'8 and a half and rounding down. If he is 5'8 flat he must wear rather thick shoes, and in all likelihood he would then be a little shorter than Gibson despite what he says. I doubt Gibson is 5'8 flat.

If Gary said 5'8 then he must be 5'8... He must of been wearing slight lifts with Glenn there... And if he said Mel is his height then he must be 5'8 as well.... He should know as they filmed a whole movie together.... Getting estimates from celebs is a legit source.

I saw him in 2001 on Broadway in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. I remember when watching the play thinking he seemed on the smaller side, as he was one of the shortest cast members, but I don't know anyone else who was in it so that doesn't say much. If he says he is 5'8, I don't know why he would be more than that, though he could be between 5'8 and 5'9 without realizing he is rounding down. Awesome actor.

That is a load of bull. I mean he was a bit shorter than Charlie Sheen in the Big Bounce, but not more than an inch or so. Charlie Sheen looked like a weak 5ft10 and Gary looked 5ft8 - 5ft9 range in that movie.

I actually just saw Gary Sinise at the airport a few hours ago. A friend spotted him and asked what looked like a family member if it was really him and it was. He was wearing a baseball cap but it was definately him. He was a really nice guy as was his family. I was stunned though by his height. I couldn't believe how short he was. I'm 5'9 and I felt like I towered over him. I would say he has to be about 5'7. There is no way in hell he is 5'10.

funny,i saw gary look 5-10 to me recently and i have photo proof.of course he looks more 5-9 in the photo cause of my posture.i always saw this man at 5-9.he stated his and mel gibsons height at 5-8 to me.even more confusion hit me.a possible lift wearer.i did say "your 5-8?,you look taller".he remained silent.he had dress boots.you know,ala pitt.

i met him during a USO tour for the military, I'm 5'8 and 1/2 and i was actually looking down at him. I would say he's between 5'7 and 5'7 3/4. I would have never guessed he was that height until shaking his hand and standing right next to him. He definitly needs a downgrade. Also Stamos was there he was about 5'10

My wife was 5’10.5” in the heals she wore that night and was right next to Sinise during one of his military performances. I would say 5’8.5 to 5’9” is a fair estimate. I did not see his shoes. I have photo but must get her permission rather than end up on the couch.

I'm SURE he's 5'8" (173cm) because I saw him on Martha Stewart (she's 178cm) and the height difference was quite visible. Both were wearing casual, almost flat shoes.

5'8"-5'9". I met him doing extra work on CSI NY. He was perhaps a tad taller than me. He had a strong grip when I shook his hand, he's a tough little guy. Also in his movies he looks like he is not aging well but in person he looked very healthy and fit. I might go with 5'9" becasue he did look taller than I.

I agree with this height. I dont think he is an inch under it. Watch the stand when it shows him and Rob Lowe standing next to eachother with there backs towards the screen. You can only see about an inch difference and Rob is listed at 5'11.

He is more like 5'7 1/2". and he is not the type of guy to wear elevators, so if he was 5'6" you would kinda notice it on screen. Watch mission to mars and you will see he is the same height as don cheadle, and connie nielson and if you watch the movie imposter you will see he is maybe a little shorter than tony shaloub, their is a nice scene with them both walking down a corridor, he is also the same height as mekhi phiefer, he meets the mark with all the 5'7"s - 5'9"s.
