How amazing to see Mr Finlay on Celebheights at last! Frankly (ouch!), I'd never even noticed he'd been missing, but it's grand that he finally has his own page.
So many huge names have appeared in that one elusive first series of 'The Black Adder', and to find Frank playing 'The Witchsmeller Pursuivant', such an exotic title, goes to show that Frank could sniff out what was to later be voted the Best Comedy Ever after his already 35 years experience as an actor and was eager to take part in it, along with comedy genius Peter Cook.
My memories of Frank date right back to my adolescence, seeing him in that sort of swashbuckling Musketeer material to admiring his performance in the 1977 TV Dracula production, in which Louis Jourdain played the lead. He was in such classics as 'The Wild Geese', 'The Deadly Bees', which I thought was great, 'Cromwell', 'The Death of Adolf Hitler', and a lovely version of 'A Christmas Carol', the first one I ever saw.
He never struck me as a particularly tall or short man, until I watched that Blackadder episode the other night, and because the cast tends to be on the tall side, I reckoned on 5ft7 or a bit over that, but I will gladly settle for 5ft8 as his average throughout his wonderful, illustrious career.
RIP Frank Finlay xxx
Long may you be remembered and treasured. 💐🌷

There are still names like Frank, who have still not been added. Over time, hopefully more like him might get a page.
