Average guess is surprisingly high. I don't think he's ever looked 5'10 range. 5'9.5 is spot on.

Got to look under couch for some extra fractions!

I'm seeing what an inch looks like right now as Ed Byrne is on a Celebrity Chase and here he stands next to a giggling Brad, hair noticeably longer than in the above picture and all smartly dressed in brown, having accumulated £8 in the cash build-up. He is now bravely playing for £117,000 which, with Eric Bristow's £3,000, could total £120,000 for good causes.
You want to know what Brad is laughing about, do you? Well then - I'll impart that bit of information. Ed was given a question as to whom is president of the nude rock climbing association. I can only tell you that the answer was Hank Wangford and that Ed got it wrong. I didn't; I thought it was a foregone conclusion!
🧗♂️😂🤣🍌🍒🧗♀️
Ooh... imagine what that name would be as a spoonerism? Let it all hang out I say - which he clearly does!
🌽✔️👖❌
Ed got through - but Eric and Ed didn't beat Anne Hegerty in the final. However, they still walked away with £1,000 for their chosen charities, so well done to them!
Ed gets 5ft9.5. 😄👍 I disagree with the average of a touch over 5ft10.5. I've just compared him with Bradley Walsh!

It's likely he could measure 5'10 and change first thing out of bed at least. If 5'9 1/2" is his lowest.
Nik said on 26/May/18
He looks what he is, 5'9" and change!
Randomdude7 said on 23/May/18
@Nik what type of jobs would require you to be over 6 foot? by any chance screwing light bulbs??
seriously one of the dumbest close minded things I have heard on a long time and no doubt the dumbest thing I've seen on celebheights and I have been around for a long time.
Nik said on 25/Oct/17
@ Sandy Cowell - Hi!
I think there should be height restrictions in jobs if it is absolutely necessary, there should be no height discrimination but if it is a fact that someone's height would impair their ability to do a particular job then people under or over a particular height should be ruled out of being able to get that Job. I also agree with you in that there should be some leeway though if a person is just short of a minimum or maximum height if they are ideal for the job in other ways. It's a case of cutting out the height discrimination but having maximum and minimum heights for jobs when it is a necessity, thankfully this is how it has now got nowadays, I hope anyway.
It's daft that bigger numbers sound more appealing, but hey countless men love to claim "6 1" or "6 2" when they are not even 6 foot, a lot of men aren't even happy with that and would claim as high a height as they could. I don't know what it is maybe men think it is more macho to be seen as being at least "5 10" and ideally over 6 foot. Women can be the same but the ideal height many women like to claim is often in the 5'6" - 5'8" range!
You made me laugh by saying about people stuffing their shoes or putting sponge in their socks, you can certainly understand it though when they are faced with being unfairly discriminated against due to their height.
Cheers!
Sandy Cowell said on 23/Oct/17
@ Nik - Funny that people could lie because they find BIGGER numbers more appealing! How daft is that? It's kind of harmless and childlike at the same time and totally forgivable for the fact that it's so soppy!
One circumstance for which lying about your height was anything but silly was when certain highly-prized jobs were completely dependant on one's height. If, for instance, you were refused a position because you were half an inch below what was stipulated, you couldn't blame a candidate for stuffing out his shoes, or filling his socks with sponge! Though height restrictions were made for safety reasons, a tiny bit of height leeway should have been allowed if the applicant was ideal in every other way, but a very short person manning the traffic wouldn't make any sense whatsoever, as he could far more easily be hit by a car, or if a tiny person tackled a dangerous thug in a police job, he would be far more likely to be attacked back by a person with no scruples! In that respect, a minimum height being part of the credentials of a job applicant's requirements made a great deal of sense.
I know they are no longer as rigid as they used to be for countless jobs, but that is part of modern times, and not necessarily a very wise idea if it means that people get picked on and hurt.
Now I shall see what is going on Rob Archer's page!
Cheers Nik!

@ Sandy Cowell
Absolutely! But what is it that the
height liars are gaining? Because if they tell the truth then surely this does not matter as much as how tall they actually look, if height does matter to those people! Unless you are stuffing things in your shoes then surely lying about your height is futile, unless there are so many men and women about who like the sound of bigger numbers! For men "5 10" and "6 2" and "6 4" may sound fanciful and for women "5 6" and "5 7" and "5 8" and "5 10" may sound appealing but any height claim not based on truth is pointless, and as you said the truth will get out in the end!
I am going off to Rob Archer's page right now! See you there!
Cheers!
Sandy Cowell said on 19/Oct/17
@ Nik - I totally agree! If you tell the truth about your own height, you are less likely to fall for the lies of fanciful people!
Anyway, I don't really see how someone who fabricates his or her height is going to believe it! Such a person is also going to merely PRETEND to go along with the
height liars!
The truth will always out!
Nik said on 16/Oct/17
@ Sandy Cowell
Well my judgement of heights needs some practice and I am 10 years older than this guy! It doesn't help that people have a false perception of heights caused by all the lying that goes on!
The lying certainly is infectious, and everybody is at it! It makes it so much harder for other people to tell the truth, but I always deal with honest barefoot height like you do. People who have a good honest perception of height can see through the lies anyway!
Cheers!
Sandy Cowell said on 14/Oct/17
@ Nik - In actual fact, you have a couple of seriously good points there! This is what I can make of them:
a) Being only 31, he won't be as worldly wise as many, so his judgement of heights needs quite a bit of practice before he can just look at someone and make an accurate guess.
b) He won't have any idea how many guys lie about their height, and if and when he does find out, why should he feel like owning up and making himself seem appreciably smaller than those who lie? Lying is very infectious!
Cheers! 😉

@ Sandy Cowell - Hi there!
Well he is a young lad with him being 31 years of age, he is a full 10 years younger (my autocorrect tried to change it to you gets!) than me! You shouldn't feel rotten at giving him 5'9.25", it's only slightly less than what Rob thinks! I will tell you why he thinks 5'10" is average and that is because of all the 5'8" and 5'9" guys who claim 5'10", people believe their claims and so because they are judged to be average in height to look at then they think that 5'10" is average!
👍
Sandy Cowell said on 11/Oct/17
@ Nik - Well, you noticed that he got a far more 'average' 5ft9.25 by claiming that 5ft10 was average! He got his just deserts, though I did feel a bit rotten doing that afterwards! 😉
Nik said on 10/Oct/17
@ Sandy Cowell - Hi mate!
It's not average, it's darn well above average! I think at 5'9.5" you are a high average so I don't agree with him. I agree that he has a good physique!
Cheers!
Sandy Cowell said on 10/Oct/17
5ft10 is a bloody healthy 'average', if indeed, it's average at all! If it is, it's the very tallest average there is!
I think Ed is trying to have us believe that he is a weeny bit bigger than the 5ft9.5 he is, by dismissing 5ft10 as merely average! 5ft10 does sound SO much better, doesn't it?
He gets 5ft9.25! Now that IS more like average in my view! 😛 He has a good physique and maybe on those grounds, a bit more could be believable!
