Don Ameche's Height
5ft 10 ½ (179.1 cm)
American actor, best remembered for films like Trading Places and Cocoon. In American Fitness mag he said:
"My measurements are no different than they were when I was making pictures in 1936. Well, I'm 5'11" and I weigh 147 pounds as opposed to 162 pounds when I was in my prime. But my waist measurement is just about the same -- 31 inches"

If he was still 5ft10 range in Trading Places, Ralph Bellamy was still over 6ft

I wouldn't go lower than 6ft3 for him. I think he could pull off 6ft4 range. IF you were to list him, I'd start him at 192cm. He was a bit shorter than Rock Hudson in Sea Devils maybe 1in. They called him "The Forgotten Man"
Would you consider him, Rob?

maybe 6ft 3.5 is possible...and is he worth a page? Possibly, I do like the idea of a guy that tall wearing lifts to look taller...lifts ain't just for short fella's!

Rob, could you add Maxwell Reed?

I mentioned him on Joan Collins's page. I think he was 6ft4 for real. He towers over Ameche in that picture and just stands out in the second photo as a very tall guy

not sure on him, he could have been 6ft 3-4, but Collins did say he wore lifts to look taller!

He was quite good in Midnight. I would believe a 5'11" peak for him there.

I really liked Don, both in Trading Places and Cocoon. I could believe his claims about his vital stats.; people of generation had to be more physically active than we tend to now, as they just didn't have the technology or luxuries that we do. And yet ironically, they were no doubt better for it, given how long they tend to live! Now where's my walking boots...

Check out this photo of Ty with Ameche:
Click Here In just about every photo taken of the two men, Power is taller. The same goes when they appeared together in films.

Don was an inch shorter than Tyrone Power and Power was five feet ten.
