It’s all perspective Lee, some pictures he looks barely taller than her and some pictures he towers her. It all depends on the camera angle. I don’t think he’s 5’4 I’m still sticking to my thought a weak 5’6 like he’s claimed multiple times

Here is my educated guesses.

Deryck-5’6
Dave-5’7.5
Tom-5’8
Cone-5’11 maybe 6’0
Frank-5’6
Stevo-5’9 maybe 5’10

Deryck has said more than once in different interviews that he’s 5’6 and Cone said claimed both 5’11 and 6’0. Frank is exactly the same height as Deryck. In this picture of Deryck and Dave standing next to each other Dave looked only about an inch taller. And Tom looks about an inch taller than Dave. Steve looks about 1 or 2 inches shorter than cone. So that’s my thought out guesses on their heights. Plus Deryck replied to me on an Instagram post saying all of them except Cone are in the 5’6-5’8 area so yeah, the. He called Cone tall. So there’s my evidence.

I know he’s not that tall but he definitely doesn’t seem to be 5’4 short. He seems like a 5’6 guy and he’s claimed to be 5’6 more than once in interviews. Plus he replied to me on Instagram saying that everyone in the band but Cone (the bass player) is between 5’6-5’8. He doesn’t seem like the kind of guy to lie about his height either so I’ll go with 5’6. He’s definitely not 5’7 though like what google says but google seems to give celebrities an extra inch or five a lot.

Met him backstage after a concert in Tampa (Thanks Steve for the passes!). Made my 5'9" (flat footed) self, feel tall. I towered over him. He must have been 5'4-5'5 tops.

Well I am a girl and I have a thing for shorter guys. Deryck is probably 5'4" tall flat out without shoes on. He is quite adorable. Gleen is bending sideways, if he was standing straight in this picture the 4 inch different would be more evident...

And i think it's not so bad to be 5'4 as a man compared to the girls, a lot girls LOVE shorter men because they see cuteness in them (but rarer the tall model ones), my personal experiences ;)

For the people saying Whibley was 5'6'': Did you see his shoes? I've seen a lot of paparazzi photos of him and a lot of times he's wearing these really thick soled shoes, especially when he's with his wife, Avril Lavigne, who he doesn't look much taller then even with the thick soled shoes on.

Lauren - How do you "tower over" somebody who is supposedly only two inches shorter than you? Oh gosh. Maybe you think you "tower," but obviously do not if you're 5'4."

Avril is about 5'2".. hDeryck appears about 2-3 inches taller, so he's probablhy around 5'4" give or take a half... so this is probably correct.

He's 5'4" from what I can tell. Anonymous, in your picture 1) he looks taller 2)women tend to have longer legs proportionately, while men tend to have longer torsos proportionately so her legs looking longer is a moot point (though I don't thin her legs even look longer than his. A lot of people seem to state things about the photos they post that are fuzzy at best and completely false at worst.

Interesting pics Anonymous - It looks like he has the advantage in shoe height and still only appears 3", at most, taller than Avril. I'd be surprised if he is tall than 5'4".

@Jay - "A very small frame" should make him look taller. Like it does for Depp.

Avril has said she's 5'1"... who knows maybe she downgrades or hasn't measured in years, but we know she ain't taller than 5'2"... and in Converse she isn't much shorter than Whibley.

I've met Deryck, he is my exact height, which is 5'4 1/2" no taller, no shorter. What makes him look so short is the fact that he has a very small frame. Avril is shorter than him by quite a bit and just as tiny, if not tinier in frame. Watch, their kids are going to be super tall!

In the pics that the second Anonymous posted Avril IS wearing heels. I've seen more of those pics before where I have seen a heel, and as a lady, I can tell from the way she is standing that she isn't wearing flats. That just isn't a flats posture! Those photos can't be used. And Avril does seem to be getting in to heels lately so we can't just assume she is wearing flats anymore.

Anyway, it's almost impossible to tell how tall he is because I've never seen a photo of the man without giant shoes on *shakes fist*

Avril is featured in the February 2006 issue of Harpers Bazaar Magazine. (Very end of the mag) I think she mentions that she's 5ft0inches. There is a picture of Avril alongside Deryck and although he is taller than her, he almost the same height. Thus I would put him at 5ft2inches...max of 5ft 4inches.

But hey, why does it matter? How tall are Michael J Fox or George Stephanopoulos ???

Even if Avril is wearing heels, look at the platforms on his shoes. Those have to be at least 3" and I doubt if she's wearing heels they're any bigger than that (otherwise it would be much more obvious that she's wearing heels).

I am convinced that Deryck is really no taller than Avril (hell, in a lot of pictures she appears taller than him...) In this picture, in which she is wearing sandals (which possibly have heels to it, although it does not appear so), and he is wearing massive platforms on his shoes, they appear the same height (also notice that her legs are more spread out than his, and she's leanign while he's standing up straight, and they still appear to be the same height):

KC - you say "It defeats the purpose". There is a very good chance that there is no purpose.... that Avril wears what ever shoes she wants with out a thought in her mind about Deryck's height. Not every one is Obsessed With Height. I really doubt that when Avril plans her outfit, she is thinking "hmmm, hom many inches shorter will I be than Deryck".

With that said, I would have to say that Deryck is shorter than 5'5". There is sooooo much information, and fan encounters, about Avril. She is 5'2" at best, and has called herself 5'1" more than once.

It's not exactly an assumption, just an educated guess. If Whibley is wearing 3-inch-heel shoes (making him 3 inches taller), why would Avril wear hidden 3-inch heels (making him 3 inches shorter, back to where he was)? It defeats the purpose.

In your pics, there looks to be about max 2 inches of difference. The second picture shows more difference, but you can't see their feet.
If Avril is really an inch taller than even what she claimed, then I think this guy looks max 5'4.

Actually, I don't even think Avril's wearing hidden heels (cross out #2 in my last post). It wouldn't make sense for Whibley to wear obvious 3" shoes that everyone can see, while Avril, trying to look shorter than Whibley, is hiding a pair of 3" heels (that just defeats the purpose). I think the two have the same barefoot height (he, with 2" shoe advantage, looking max 2" taller).

In a recent magazine article, Avril was described as being "5'2" tops" which means she's probably a short 5'2"....in regards to Deryck, the more pictures I see of him (with clunky shoes) and Avril (in regular soled shoes/sandals), the more I think he can't be more than an inch or so taller than her, if at all.
