In The Amazing Spider-Man, Leary looks a solid 6'1 with Andrew Garfield but during the press tour he looks more in the 6'0 range next to him. Bit odd. I wouldn't push back against a 6'0.75 listing either back then, or especially now.

Happy 63rd Birthday, Denis Leary. I feel the 6’1.25” listing for Leary’s peak is fine, anything lower than that for Leary’s peak I would not be convinced of. I think Ray Romano may be slightly taller than Leary.

Maybe he can be 6'1 1/2 peak he claim but pretty sure he already lost height not long before filming Amazing Spider-Man roughly in his mid 50s age losing that half inch.

Back in 2012 filming The Amazing Spider-Man i have notice Leary have already lost 1/2", 6'0 3/4 at best. 6'1 1/4 i a peak for him. Rhys Ifans is always 6'1 1/2 not more.

Ok yeah, in the A**hole video he's wearing sneakers and still looks well over 6 foot. So yeah. Dude ain't 5ft 9. He does appear to wear some pretty thick boots at times, but they probably aren't lifts.

5' 9" to 5' 9 1/2" barefoot -- wears major lifts between 2" - 3" and biker boots with 2" heels and platform soles. Started wearing blue contacts and lifts sometime after Demolition Man, where he is around the same height as Wesley Snipes.

Wow that is odd I always thought he was like 5 11 tops, he has bad posture real bad.
Standing straight he is about an inch under the ever creepy Peter Greene who claims 6 2 .5.
Oddly he only appears about 5 over Emilio in same movie in which his id says 5 6 so hes not gonna wear vin shoes.
He was a bit taller than spacey, much shorter than the venerable danny glover and close to ray liota.
I think he is a very sloppy weak 6 1 peak not seen what he is in with costner but kevin is shrinking a lot.
The tallest hes looked lately was in the Amazing Spidey he looked a solid 6 ft maybe more

I thought he was like 5'10. In The Thomas Crown Affair, Pierce Brosnan was noticeably taller. Leary was about as tall as Rene Russo in heels. He is probably six feet even. Anything else seems far-fetched.

In the film? I wouldn't trust pictures. He is taller than Rhys Ifans, who is listed 187cm. He's got 3 inches on Garfield, who can is legit 179cm. And he's well into his 50's. Robb says some people have lost in there 40's, yet Leary is just 186, when h still looks that today?

H also looks taller than 6ft1 Costner. I need a good look with Welling, but he has excellent posture, and makes everyone look less than liste anyway!

187 is closer. He is clearly taller than every 6'1 guy I've ever seen him with.

Once again, pictures are deceptive.

And Shredd, his character on Rescue Me (Tommy Gavin) has been described 6ft3 multiple times. Leary co-wrote(and co created the show) I count that as a claim. I'm sure I've heard him claim it as well, but can't recall an exact quote.

I watched the new Costner movie last night. leary actually looked an inch taller, to me. They had several close up scenes. I think Costner is maybe 6' even... and Leary is about 6'1". Just going by their claimed heights and the fact Leary looks taller in the new movie.

You finally downgraded him! He's not a full 6'2, despite his claim of 6ft3. However, I hate to nitpick, but I don't think he dropped below 6ft1.75in at his peak. Remember that the guy is on his 50's now , so a cm of height loss is to be expected. So a solid 187cm or 6ft1.75 for Leary. Also, he was taller than legit 6ft1 guys like dean winters(AKA:Mayhem!) point is a solid 187 could pull of the 188-189cm look in boots. Anyway, I'm glad you finally downgraded him too 187cm range, be it 6ft1.5 or 6ft1.75!

Looked nowheare near 6'2 on screen in the thomas crown afair and true crime.

I know this sounds really stupid but he can give of a under 6ft illusion on screen. just my opinion.

No way is he under 6'. Not possible. I took an elevator with him while I interned at Letterman - his production company is in the same building. I remember telling everyone how tall he was.Granted, I'm 5'4", but he had to be over 6'2"...maybe taller.

I just watched Demolition Man and he didn't look that much taller than Sylvester Stallone (who admittedly is made to look taller than he is in the movies). But still, he didn't look at all over 6', and was at least 2 inches shorter than Benjamin Bratt.

lebensdorf is exactly right. I rarely agree with downgrading comments but this guy is not 6'2. He looked 6'0.75 in the thomas crowene affair. In scenes with russo, he gave the illusion of barely 6ft. Rob, I would consider downgrading this guy.

I think a lot of guys who are 6 feet flat try to get to that special tallness associated with the 6'2'' height by wearing boots. I really think 6'2'' is a stretch with this guy, and 6'3'' is certainly beyond belief. Possibly 6'1'', but I think more like 6 feet and a half at the most.

Respectable guy. In Thomas Crown affair he looked short and had more fat. Nowadays in Rescue me he looks taller, skinnier. Maybe cowboy heels help him.

Are we sure about this guy? He never struck me as being particularly tall and I've just seen the remake of Thomas Crown Affair. Frankie Faison is taller than him in every seen and I think his official height is 6'2". There are also seens where he's not much bigger than Renee Russo (5'8") in her heels. I'd have him at 6'1" max. 6'2"/6'3" is getting up to the Josh Hartnett sort of height where he'd be the tallest guy in every scene. I agree with Biffy's comment on footwear - Leary's a big fan of cowboy boots.

I've noticed this guy wears some seriously thick heels, both onscreen and out and about. No pictorial evidence to hand save for [a href="Click Here"]this baby[/a], but I've been watching him in Double Whammy with Lizzie Hurley - at least an inch heel on his dress shoes, maybe more. There's a good close-up when he's running to save his wife and kid in the dream sequence. He's at least 6ft plus by anyone's measure... why bother with a little extra?
