American actor, best remembered for roles in films such as Twelve O'Clock High, Cash McCall, King Creole, Bad Day at Black Rock, White Christmas, Elmer Gantry, The Robe, The Nun's Story and Pursued. In a 1976 SunStone magazine, it describe him as:
"six-foot-two stage actor", although in film When Strangers Meet, his character was described as 6ft 1 and 170 pounds.

What's up Rampage? Good to see you!

This guy generally looked near 6ft2, I think 6ft1½ would be the shortest I'd argue for him. 6ft1 flat is too low for his peak.....

He was about an inch shorter than Peck in the 1940s, so Peck at 6'2.5 and Jagger at 6'1.5 is fine. I dunno on Garner, he and James Coburn could really pass for 6'2. They looked taller than say Lee Marvin or Errol Flynn but not always easy to tell. By the end of the 90s Garner was struggling with 6 ft, I can see Rob why you've not convinced he was 6'2.

He was shorter than James Garner yet Garner is at 6'1.5 on here and Jagger 6'2!

looked same height as Randolph Scott in Western Union. I believe 6'2" and a fraction either way is spot on for his prime.

Looked every inch of this in his early career

He looked more like 6'1" in Game of Death but I was shocked hiwntalle he was in his film history. Definitely 6'2" when he was 60 and below and didn't lose much from what I saw in his lifetime.
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 19/Nov/16
Probably closer to 6ft1 in later years but 6ft2 peak for certain

Rob can you add a photo and films Twelve O'Clock High, Cash McCall, King Creole, Bad Day at Black Rock, White Christmas, Elmer Gantry, The Robe, The Nun's Story and Pursued.
Did look a solid 6'2 with Peck but then oddly looked a bit shorter than James Garner in Cash mcCall, might have lost an inch early.

Down to 6 ft 1 range by late 50s I think, didn't look 6'2 with Elvis or James Garner.

Looked pretty tall in the great western film 'Rawhide'.

Looked around 188cm in 'Bad Day at Black Rock'.

Rob is this a new entry? I thought I remembered requesting this a while back, he was in 12 O Clock High with Greg Peck and he looked virtually the same height.
Editor Rob

Dean was 6'2" in his 1950's era movies, including "Bad Day at Black Rock" with (close to) 6'4" Robert Ryan, and 6'2" Lee Marvin and John Ericson.

He isn't alive anymore, it needs to be changed to Dean Jagger Height: 6'2".

Yes, I am going to say his peak was 6'2" but in his 70's, looked about 6'0 1/2" IMO.

Dean was my dads brother and he was indead 6'2', everyone knows our spine shrinks a bit when we get older.
Kid-Icarus said on 3/Jul/07
He was way taller than Bing Crosby in White Christmas by at least 5 inches. He didn't really look 6'2" in Game Of Death when he was in his late 70's.

Never 6'2". Take a look at Firecreek (1968) James Stewart dwarfed him. Granted he was pretty old, but he wasn't much taller than Danny Kaye in White Christmas (1954)

He's looks really short sometimes. But he stood as tall as Bob Wall in Game Of Death who is also 6'2"
