I bought myself a new copy of ‘Exorcist: The Beginning’, in which David plays Father Gionetti. Being nice suits him! He says to Stellan Skarsgard’s character, “You’re a priest,” to which Stellan’s Lankaster Merrin (Skarsgard) replies, “I was.” Then Father Gionetti replies, “You’ll always be a priest. It’s the only thing that can save you now.”

As the film progresses, you see the War atrocities Father Merrin endured which caused him to lose his faith. They’re unspeakable, and he has nightmares about them constantly.

David Bradley is one terrific actor, and has starred in so many great movies and TV programmes. He will tackle comedy and the extremely serious, of which this is a prime example.

The film was made in the first half of the first decade of this century, around 2004, and David still looks 5ft11, and a strong one to boot!

David is on TV tonight - in ‘Exorcist - The Beginning’ with the super-tall Stellan Skarsgard. It’s on the Legend channel at 9 o’clock, and well worth seeing.

I’m watching, though not attentively, a film called ‘Await Further Instructions” in which David plays the grandfather of Nick. who goes round to his parents’ house for the Christmas vacation with his girlfriend.

Soon they find out that there’s a deadly virus going round. and although their presence after a couple or three years has triggered arguments with his sister, and the couple wish to leave, they find out via the TV that there’s a deadly virus going round and everybody has to stay put. David’s grandfather is one of those grumpy old gits who enjoys people to be at loggerheads with one another, causing as much friction as he can.

It doesn’t pay off though because he dies a nasty death. It happens very suddenly and is the only time you get to see him leave his armchair. Not the best film from which to judge his height!

I’ve seen enough of his movies to know that he was a strong 5ft11 in his younger years, so I’m going with 5ft11.25 for his peak height and 5ft10 for today. especially as the picture is 10 years old this year.

‘Await Further Instructions’ was made in 2018 and it’s a truly creepy coincidence that the pandemic was created a year later. I didn’t see the film to an end, but from what I did see, the symptoms of the virus were nearer to that of ‘The Stand’ than Covid 19. I mean, even their food was contaminated. Hellish stuff indeed and a film I definitely WON’T be buying!

Ah! I've just seen that I've already been on David's page to sound off about his starring in the excellent and hard hitting film 'Harry Brown'. Well, I'm watching it right now, and the local hooligans have just tried to burn him to death in his own home. He goes out and curses at them over the balcony - and who can blame him?

I remember only too well what happens next. His mate, ex-Marine Michael Caine, or Harry Brown, towers over him, so I'm off to Michael's page now.

As I said, this is a hard film to watch, with open drug-dealing and far, far worse. These youngsters are so evil that any mind altering substances make them even worse.

David was also in the film 'Harry' Brown', playing the best friend of Michael Caine. He meets with an unfortunate end, and Caine's Harry Brown decides to take the law into his own hands. It's an excellent watch and also stars Sean Harris as an unsavoury character.

David still looked quite burly in that film. I'd go for 5ft11 peak and 5ft10.25 now.

Yeah, Rob, I most associate him with his roles as Abraham Setrakian in The Strand and as Lord Walder Frey in Game of Thrones, could you add those to the first sentence?

I actually forgot how he looked near Rob but had started watching The Strain and he can look surprisingly tallish/lanky at times, I don't doubt he could have stood around 5'11", although is now in his early 70s so probably is a bit less recently.

Honestly thought this guy was 6ft, I always got quite a tall impression from him. Surprising. My proportions are similar to his so perhaps that is why I get mistaken for being taller than I am too.

Would you consider his head small Rob? I remember that close to 6ft4 height challenger guy with a bit over 9 inch head, and you said you didn't consider his head small. Yet he's like almost 6 inches taller than Bradley, and has just a little bigger head.

So Matt's head is nearing 10 inch length? I didn't think it looked so big. But he has a rather thin head like Cumberbatch, so that can take off the length visually.

Saw a tv series with him and daniel craig walking side by side filmed in the 90's, craig was about a half an inch smaller so that makes craig 5'9
