Other internet sites have him at anything 6ft2-6ft4 LOL. In reality he is a flat 183cm, taller side of average. It just shows how an actual 6ft can be a pretty good height.

Met him last year, stood next to him for a while. You've got him at least 1" above his real height Rob, he's not this tall. Pretty much 6ft, might be 6'0.5.

You can see that at sometimes they look the same height, but as soon as Dave stands up straight, he's got inches over Fallon. I'm telling you, I'm 6'1" and when I met Dave, he was a solid inch over me. I won't give an exact height, but I'll say he's not under 6'2".

I wondering if anyone saw him on Jimmy Fallon the other night, because he was more or less eye to eye with Fallon (maybe an inch taller at the most) and Fallon is listed as 5'11"

Paige that's definitely not the case-AT ALL. He is absolutely nowhere under 6 ft tall. I myself am 6' 1" an he stood a good inch over me when I meet him. As for being nice and humble, you're absolutely correct, he is such a nice guy! Never complacent, never big-notes himself.

So funny that DMB fans are all convinced that Dave is 7 feet tall and bullet proof. I met him up close and personal at a press conference in NYC for their second flavor of B and J ice cream. I am 5'4"; Dave is approximately 5'10"-5'11"- a very average size guy. He was extremely nice and seemed very humble.

David is 6'1"- 6'2" range -- from a personal friend. I'm now 6'1.5 and twenty years ago we where exactly the same height.
When I knew LeRoy he was a lot heavier than when he passed away but if I had to guess he was about the same height as Carter.

i knew a kid a few yrs back who said he met dave. he is 6'3" and sad dave was taller (and bigger) than he was. one thing i remembered was how amazed he was about the size of his hands.

I went to see the Dave Matthews band in Belgium last week, he had a special guest: Tom Morello (Rage against the Machine, Audioslave)

Morello seemed half a head smaller than Matthews, maybe 5-9, still taller than I expected. Couldnt get close though. Morello didnt sound very good, was playing very simple acoustic blues and sang...not so good actually...

Most of the photos from their myspace have weird angles and and have people closer to the camera and what not, but in the beach photo Leroi is wearing shoes and is on the beach which is slanted upwards and carter is in the water which is lower and I think he looks taller than leroi. However, in most of the other photos, Leroi looks taller now that I looked again, so you're probably right. My bad...

In person, Leroi is just about my height. Carter's shorter by an inch, inch-and-a-half max.

I disagree with D. Ray Morton. I think that Carter is taller than Leroi. If you go to their myspace and look at their pictures Carter is clearly taller than leroi.

I took the pic, my friend on the left has a bit puffy hair which gives him visually 2 or 3 more cm so he looks about 197.
Dave is at least 185, but I think 186, maybe 187. I don't believe 188 though..
I was actually surprised he's that tall, from a distance he looks about 183, or maybe smaller.

the tall guy in the pic above doesn't look 1.95cm if Dave is 1.87cm, can't see 8cm difference there, i see over 10cm....Dave is 1.85cm and considering his age i'd say it is the right height.

Dave's 6'1", 6'1½" tops. Carter's 5'7", 5'7½" tops. He is shorter than me. Curiously listed at 5'10". Nicest Guy Ever. Leroi - 5'8½". Always thought he thought he was shorter than that. Tinsley I'd put at 6'2½. Stefan - looks 5'10", but couldn't say for sure. I'd always wished that someone like Oteil Burbridge or Tim LeFebvre were playing with the DMB instead. Saw Vic Wooten play with the band a couple of times. Sounded amazing.

Like I said, he was hardly taller than Dave, while Dave was sitting and Tim was standing. Hard to say when they're onstage though, but his guitar looked huge on Tim.

As for the other band members, I know about how tall they are in relation to Dave, but I always thought Dave was 6'0" tops so I guess that changes everything. Boyd seems about an inch taller than Dave with Stefan looking 3-4 inches shorter. Carter and LeRoi are even shorter, looking about 5-6 inches shorter than Dave. I think LeRoi is the shortest. Here is a good picture: although it's REALLY small. I have the actual poster, though.

I met Tim Reynolds and he was literally the smallest man I have ever seen. After I left I passed by him playing guitar on stage and you could really see how tiny he was. I was with my mom who is 5'1", and I can guarantee you that he was no taller than her, maybe even a bit shorter, but it was close. I'd say 5'0", and we were close enough to shake hands.

I'm not on the picture, my two friends (my bandmates actually) are.

After the show we had a drink at a café, when we left to get to the car, we passed the venue again. There were like 25 people at the entry, turned out that Dave was leaving the place. The only thing we had was a cellphone with a cam, so that's why the quality isn't that good. (It was dark, no flash...).

I wonder how tall / short his guitarist Tim Reynolds is, I guess he must be something around 5'5" or something.

Dave is 6 foot 2. I met him in a sub shop in Cranston, Rhode Island and he was surprisingly pleasent and open for a celebrity. It could have been that we were far away from a big city and there were only a few people in the store, but that's a tangent. My point is he was my father's height- 6 foot 2.5- as they were standing next to each other. I am 12 years old and 5 foot 10, but Dave looked roughly 5 inches taller than me.

I made this picture actually, my first celebheight contribution :)
He played an acoustic show with Tim Reynolds, and that guy is really tiny!
Tim stood while playing guitar, and was barely taller than Dave who was sitting down.

He's got a good sense of humor and was very down to earth, had no problem to get on the picture and sign some cd's after playing an exhausting 2,5 hour show.
