And as for being 50 means he has had to have lost height is totally not true. I know 50 year olds who haven't lost height yet. My dad didn't lose any height until he reached 60 or better. Therefore, it is possible. Especially if you are fairly fit and healthy...

I've watched Mamma Mia! so many times (because I love it!) And I'm fairly certain that Colin Firth and Pierce Brosnan are exactly the same height barefoot. In fact, throughout the film they seem to switch back and forth with who appears taller. 187 is correct for both these fellas! :)

If you look at Colin Firth with 189cm Nicholas Hoult recently he looks under 187cm. I think maybe he peaked at 6'1.5 and today is 186cm?

I stood next to Colin Firth last week in London, when he gave a Q&A at the Curzon cinema after his new film 'Genova'. He is 6'1". I really scrutinised him because my husband is 6'2" so I know how it feels when I'm looking up at someone. He was only slightly shorter than my husband. I was suprised that he had a slim build, not at all "beefy". He seemed very nice, posed for lots of pics and signed loads of autographs. Very low-key. Many people walked past him in the street and didn't even notice him. Not at all starry

I disagree James. He looked quite wiry when he was younger. You might be confusing him with say Chris Noth or maybe Billy Zane. They have tall builds. He doesn't come across as very imposing. He looked short next to Liam Neeson.
