A lot of people out there do believe that she is 171 cm!
On one site I have seen her listed as 171 cm and on the same site her weight is said to be 117 pounds, also Celine got married on the 17-12-1994.

I have just come across a heartbreaking article online about the tragedies Celine Dion has suffered. It was introduced with a warning that fans would cry reading it, but I am not a fan of her genre of music, though I respect the singer, yet I didn't exactly remain dry-eyed reading it myself.
I never knew Celine was 5ft7. She is the youngest of 14 kids who weren't brought up lavishly, but 'with plenty of love', often sleeping three to a bed. Love is all a child needs and any misery a youngster suffers in such circumstances is at the hands of his or her peers. It's an interesting thought that Celine grew to 5ft7, despite having only 'just enough' to get by, so it was in her genes to be that tall, and she reached her height by having enough food and healthy exercise, which is free in the form of walking after all. Remember, overeating leading to overweight is a form of malnutrition in itself.
But what really upset me was reading how Celine, who had a struggle with her husband to conceive her three children, lost her beloved husband to cancer just before his 74th Birthday. Then just a couple of days later, she lost one of her brothers to the same cruel illness. How she managed to cope was down to the strength of her family. I believe she performed onstage the same day her husband died. It was her way, a very positive way, of coping with her loss.
We all have problems, but how we deal with them depends on how we were shaped as a youngster, figuratively speaking, and often an upbringing in which you appreciate every morsel of food, yet are brought up with love, sets you up to be a far stronger and more resilient person.
Whether tall or short shouldn't make us who we are. It's the same lousy peer pressure that gives a less advantaged child the unnecessary complexes as it is that affects the very short or tall, chubby or skinny youngster who is picked upon, causing suffering for the rest of his/her life, or until proper help is received. Prevention is the ideal remedy, but the human race is a cruel one. The sooner we accept ourselves the way we were made, and how we were brought up, the better. It is, after all, beyond our control, but what we do with our lives is not.

Both Celine and Katy Perry are listed here as 5’7”, however, looking at pictures with them standing close together in rather identical heel-heights, Celine stands about an inch taller; perhaps on Celeb heights Katy has half an inch too much and Celine half an inch too little?

@Dom I worked with a team of people (all wardrobe.styling/prod design) for the company/management running press junket (ads/commercials I think) for Vegas with various celebs (so no - i was not directly hired by her). Everyone was frazzled (us more than anyone), things were not going well, and everyone was scared of upsetting her ("diva" rumors) and management. She treated people better than the people around her did.

I see what you are saying Debbie, about Celine and Leona Lewis. The way that I see it is, Celine and Leona Lewis are not really standing next to each other. We can't see Leona's heels and she could be in platforms like all of the other girls. Celine is not wearing platform heels like the other girls are. Leona looks like she may be closer to the camera and it could be the angle that makes Leona look taller. So, I think that Leona and Celine are around the same height. Leona is probably in platforms too.

That picture with Cindy C. is tough to tell because you can't see Cindy's footwear and although she does wear heels she also wears flat sandals a lot too so there is no way of knowing what she is wearing. She just looks so amazing for 40. Judging by the athletic wear she seems to have on in the R.W. pic I doubt she would be wearing heels. Either way I don't think it is likely that she would have grown she was a full grown woman in '97 for sure so it's probably the heels she wore then.

I am 5'2 so obviously she was several inches taller than me, but she was wearing her Alaia gladiator sandals that she has been seen in in all her concerts which would give her an additional 4 inches or so. NO WAY she is 5'8 barefoot. I thought she was 5'8 barefoot until I saw her I was actually shocked by it to say the least, but no big deal I ADORE her any way!

sam anderton you REALLY need to relax. I was having a pleasant debate with Jeremy. I saw her in person at her concert in Miami and she walked right past me with her back-up dancers. I KNOW she is not this height barefoot. If you really did see her maybe you were off on her height. I don't know and honestly I don't care if she was 5'10. Even if Celine was only 5'9 in heels then she would at least have to be 5'6. By the way, now some people on the Celine forum are saying that she may be 5'6-5'7. I honestly can say I was shocked because when you see her on T.V. she does look really tall, but again she is thin coupled with the very high heels she looks really tall. There is no way she is 5'7 without the help of her high heels. That I am certain. If you notice she always wears them.

I think it's really hard to get a true estimate. Celine is always wearing 4'-5' heels she is almost NEVER without them. Couple that with her slim figure and it can definitely appear that she is taller, but like I said after seeing her for myself NO WAY 5'7.

I just saw Celine last night in concert. She ALWAYS wears towering 4' heels. I actually expected her to be taller, but was taken back by how tiny she really was. There is no way she is 5'7. 5'4-5'5 yes but not 5'7 without those 4' heels. I love her any way. She put on a fantastic show! Just amazing:)

I was in the 5th row of her show in NY last night, she appeared to be 5'7" in her 4-5 inch heels. I am 5'10" in bare feet she looks about 5'3". I think that when they say she is 5'7" they must mean in heels. She is very pettite with a great figure not to skinny, but no way is she any where near 5'7" tall.
