"Press: You're 6'3. What did you weigh when you were Superman?

Brandon: Two-twenty, 218 at my heaviest.

Press: What do you weigh now?

Brandon: Uh...211, 212? But I'm lifting a little bit to stay fit, but it's nowhere near the sheer amount of weight that I was working with. If we do another one, I'll certainly be back in the gym before that."

viper if the rock was 189 cm peak then i would buy you a new car :D. One inch taller than Jim carrey. will smith, arnold. Almost shorter than brendan fraser. 0,75 inches under zachary levi? maybe its not imposbbile but who knows. Arnold could have been just over 6 foot at peak, but same there i wouldnt bet on it. Take a peak dwayne measured 2 in the afternoon. day without wrestling or any workout. Or lets say a day where he didnt workout for a week before just lived a normal life. I wouldn not bet on a mm under 6´3. On that day he would measurte over 6´3 but because that day never happened he was always a little bit compressed and 6´3. people underestemate what extremelly heavy weight does to their body. I have said this before couple times but since i havent workout in almost 3 years i am now 198cm in the afternoon if i dont lift anything. jut chilling infront of the computer, going for walks and so on. When i did strongmanlifts for years i could compress myself to little under 197.( claim 196-197) I am more than 1 cm taller now, i i havent grown at the age if 31. Viper if you know your low height do this experiment. Go to the gym. I dont know how strong you are but put on heavy weight on deadlift and squat. Most guys can lift 150 kg in deadligt so put on that and play aroudn with that for 30 minutes. then squat 100kg or more for 30 minutes and then military press as heavy as you can for 30 minutes. about 6-7 set on each. Of course your weight is maybe half of dwaynes if you are a nomral guy so you wont compress nearly as mutch but still some. then measure yourself right when you come home. Then do that everyday for 2 weeks and you will se that your average height will be lower than you normal. Theb try to do that 365 days per year couple years and keep track on your height. people will notrice you are shorter.

i always have pictured dwayne johnson as very legit 6´3 at peak, the only problem is this guy. The photos of them together are like 15-20 years old and they looked identical in height. dwayne could not have lost height by then. It could never have been more than half inche beetween them. But this guy is probably measured at 189,5 range. sometimes calim 190 oterh times 189.

Hey, I'm not the only one to share this opinion!

Upon closer inspection he's definitely a big guy and wouldn't fall below a legit 6'2, but I still say a weak 6'2.5.

Look at challenger #5 on Rob's height challenge page. This guy is pretty much identical in height, though Routh looks better/taller because he has broader square shoulders. The guy on the height challenge measured in at an exact 6'2.37, which is actually near dead on 6'2 and a quarter because Rob said his stadio reads high by 1/8.

That's where Routh measures in at for sure. Strong 6'2 just a little over 6'2 flat. Great looking height though, really towers an average 5'8 guy!

Looks a weak 6'2.5 to me, or pretty strong 6'2 as in he would likely be between 6'2 and 6'2.25 at a normal low, and likely 6'2 extreme low. Maybe even dipping below 6'2 by a tenth or so.

I could of course be wrong, but I would bet some money that he's closer to 6'2 than 6'3.

Considering that Routh portrayed the same version of Superman as Reeves, it makes the differences in height a little bit of a discontinuity since the Reeves-Superman claimed he was about 6'4 in an interview with Lois Lane. I think in the Superman Returns movie, Lois said that Superman was 6'3 or something like that probably to be more accurate to Routh's stature.

Yes, Superman Returns is a direct sequel to Superman 2 (1980).

I’m surprised Charles holds up extremely well with Joonas, despite being 64 years of age. I definitely believe 6’3 1/4” at least for young Charles.

Do you remember that I showed you pictures of myself with Tom Welling and Charles Martinet (Voice Actor for Mario in Nintendo)?

When I saw them, I got a taller impression from a 64 year old Charles than say Tom. Do you think a peak Charles can definitely beat out someone like Brandon Routh? Truth to be told, I didn't expect Charles to be really tall, considering he voiced Mario for all those years.

Brandon Routh's actually 6'2 1/2" and he is the same height as Liev Schreiber. I am actually 6'4" or 1.93 m which means that I am 1 1/2 inches taller than Brandon Routh because the last time I measured myself with a measuring tape the tape measure said that my height is 6'4" without shoes.
So I'll give him 6ft 2 1/2(1.89 m) for his height.

Based on what I've seen I think 6'2.5 for afternoon is a good listing.

I'd guess approx 191 - 189 on a normal day for Routh. I think 6'2 3/8 or 6'2.4 could be his night height, and 6'2.25 his extreme low.

I want to correct myself. 189,2 afternoon is a great listing !

I think he wakes up at 6'3 1/4, will measure 6'2 5/8 or even 6'2.75 (at doctors office) and 6'2.5 in the afternoon. Before bed could be 6'2 3/8. And would even say 6'2 1/4 as an extreme low under certain circumstances (20h awake, measuring the height right after playing 2hours of soccer in the night)

He is 1/4 taller than myself. I dip slightly below 189 in the afternoon (More 6'2 1/4 guy on this site)


Though I don't think Routh would look any taller than myself. Probably even I could do look a hair taller, since I have a good posture and always wear my Reebok Classic or Nike Airmax 90 most of the time.

I really think Routh is still 189,2 at 5-6pm, yes but 189,5 at 2pm (even 6 2'75 at 10-11am)

I think he is max 1/4 inch taller than myself.
He call held the 189,2 longer than I do. I measure that at 11am but 188,6 or 188,7 at 5-6pm.
He might fall to 188,7 before bed, while I am then more 188,1.

Assuming we use 2pm measurements I would give myself 6'2 3/8 (188,9) and him 1/4 inch taller -

6'2 5/8 as this 2pm measurement.

You're right, Jdubbz. As a matter of fact, in every pic I've seen of Brandon standing right beside Tom, the latter never looks the shorter, but more like the taller in more than one. Could it be footwear? Maybe, but overall I agree that they would measure about the same.

All of the height chart for 6'2.5" range guys such as Cook, Routh and Welling have their eyebrows at 5'10 1/8" which is 178cm bang on. You said in Yao's page for averaged sized head, from eyebrows to head is 4" 10cm which should make these guys 6'2 flat or at best 1/8" above it (188-188.3cm)?

In celebheights.com the more perspective people thought an actor a 1/4 taller which turns out to be legit listing. Routh i always thought 190cm when i watch him in a tv series Fear Itself that impression keeping me before i found out he was listed at 6'2.5" and met by 5'8 1/8 Rob in person. Rob had insist Routh a legit 6'2.5" in person so i wouldn't go above the range.

Range 188.7-189 cm, he doesn't look a strong 189, probably he's shorter then Tom Welling by a fraction. Next to Zachary Levi (on Converse) he reach his height with an inch of shoes (191.5-192 cm), so with a footwear advantage. 189.2 cm is the best he can be. Surely he can be 6'3 in the morning, then 189.1-189.2 cm in afternoon then 188.7 cm in the evening.

@Rob Paul: Here is another good photo of my dad and I. This was taken in the evening and he appears to have dropped down to 5’8” or so at this point. Can you give a good guess as to how tall I look in this photo? For some reason I measured myself at 6’1.25”ish which means I grew and maybe I have the potential of growing 2 more inches max but I want to make sure that I am getting the right measurements. People are saying I looking somewhere in between 5’11” and 6’1” or that I am 6’0” so probably I am about that height. When I used a wall to measure my height though on a flat ground, I got a measurement of 6’1.5” (187 cm). Which is far off from people’s estimates of my height. I had a good 5-6” on my brother though who is 5’7.5”. This is me standing at my tallest. Any guesses as to how tall I look? I am 230 pounds however so that extra weight probably makes me look shorter.

It’s more that the more I compare Routh with Fisher, the more I realize that he and Fisher are actually closer than most people think.

I don’t think Routh is as low as 6’2” flat, but Fisher isn’t 187 cm as most people believe him to be. If that were the case, Dalton would be 5’10” at best.

Agreed Rob. While you are a height expert, sometimes even experts can go slightly off track. For instance, let us take the average measurements of heads of six footers, I am not sure about the Ireland or rest of UK, but in India, many people who are legitimate 6 footers have 10-inch heads (Measurement from bottom of head to the point at the top - not the face, but the actual topmost point)/ Considering you stated Brandon Routh is only 6 foot 2.5 (The same height as my younger brother), I would assume his head is minimum 10 inches.Your head is right at the tip of his nose - subract 2-2.5 inches from the 10 inches - you still have 7.5 inches left. Let's cut 0.5 inches for hair and you still have 7 inches. Let's also remember you are slightly over 5 foot 8 - a centimeter or slightly over. Add 7 inches to your height and you get what I mean. If you disagree with me, you need to state that either Brandon Routh has a very small head or your measurement is slightly off. And really - how can you tell 0.5 inch difference without putting him below a stadiometer is below me. Sometimes, we have confirmation bias and we really stick to "figures" we believe as facts.

Rob - Two things I would like to consider here. He is standing in a slightly slouched manner or not completely erect - losing around 1-1.5 cms of height. I think this guy is a full 6 foot 3 - in his photos with Jason Mamoa and Dwayne Johnson - he looks 6 foot 3 easily. Also, he has tilted his head slightly towards the left while facing the camera, sometimes a slight slouch can also take half an inch from your height if you know what I mean.
