Dexter looked a bit below Anthony Quinn in 'Last Train from Gun Hill'. He also appeared 6ft in 99 River Street. Spot on.

He was married to Peggy Lee and once saved Sinatra from drowning, sounds like he was a cool guy. I've seen easily half of the films he was in. He looked at least six foot, similar sort of height to Mitchum would be believable, but 6 ft 3 or even 6 ft 2 is laughing gas!

6ft3 is definitely out there but 6ft and change is debatable figure. I wouldn't write off 6ft0½. I'm sure wearing cowboy boots he was clearing 6ft2 and possibly heading to 6ft3.

Great add Rob! We’ve finally got all of the magnificent seven!

I had Dexter pegged at 6’0.5” until I saw this. I am now modifying my guess to 6’0.25” peak. Maybe six feet flat by The Magnificent Seven.

Please note: I’ve just submitted a request for French actor Michel Piccoli (with supporting photographic evidence) in the Philippe Noiret page. If you could add Piccoli next, I’d be very, very happy. Similar height range to Dexter too, only a tad shorter at around 5’11.5”.
