I only know Bill from 'Born Free', which I loved!
He looked incredibly tall in it and, coupled with some of the comments I've just read about him, I think 6ft5 is an accurate enough guess!
I love seeing men getting playful with animals! 😊 🐆🐘🐻🐒 👏👍💞 😳

Stewart Granger was 6'1". Travers was 6'4".

Yes Shadow, the diff could look 3.5 inches. I will watch The Little Hut later on. It's possible Travers was a bit over 6'5 and Granger a bit under 6'2.

By "change" I guess you mean 0.5", making Granger 3.5" shorter than Travers, since you said 22/Aug/15 on Granger's page "Granger was about 3-3.5 inches shorter than Bill Travers in Bhowani junction". Perhaps we are getting closer to a compromise here. Hurry up and watch the 1957 MGM movie "The Little Hut" with Niven and let us know your (revised) opinion of Granger's real/true height. Or alternatively watch episodes of TV's "The Virginian" with Granger, Doug McClure, and James Drury.

Didn't have 4 inches on Granger, a solid 3 inches, with maybe a bit of change added.

Travers was a minimum 3.5" (it looked like nearly 4") taller than Granger in "Bowhani Junction", he towered over him, which wouldn't have happened if Granger was actually 6' 2". Granger seemed no taller than 6' 1", even with Ava. I wish someone could finally report back on "The Little Hut" with Granger, Niven, and Ava. Is this movie not accessible by our regular contributors?

I thought he looked a decent 6 ft 5 with Granger, though I guess you could argue 6'1.5 for Granger and just under 6 ft 5 for Travers.

Travers seemed two inches taller than Sidney Poitier in "Duel at Diablo", making him 6' 4.5" (or so). If Jim Hutton can't get a 6' 5" listing, then perhaps Travers may not have been the full 6' 5" either. See what others think.

Thanks Rob, yeah I think nearer 6 ft 5, though you could argue a Howard Stern type listing too, I think 6 ft 6 was probably a shoe measurement, he didn't look as big as that.
