I'm listening to my newly-discovered TV music channel and they played Benny's No. 1 hit 'Ernie', complete with video. 'Ernie' described the story of an amorous milkman with a love rival, and it hailed from 1971.

His 'dirty old man' capers got on my nerves when I was a youngster! I preferred his other sketches, like when he was playing a school teacher!
I didn't think he was as tall as 5ft9.5! I thought he was at least a couple of inches smaller, but then he was on the rotund side!
I enjoyed his hit 'Ernie' - it brings back childhood memories of walking round the playground singing it! But we would sing anything, including that Chuck Berry No 1 which had Mary Whitehouse up in arms!

Biggest upsets ever for me ever are Charles Bronson,Richard Pryor,Benny Hill,Reagan,Nixon,Dimebag, Layne Staley,etc.the one I met here is Pryor.not a Dimebag fan.its just pathetic how I never saw him.Reagan and Nixon were hanging in the street for a half hour.didnt believe it.missed out.
