I see what he means about his torso, he's got the legs of a 5'7-5'8 dude but the torso of a 6 footer! But 5'10 is fair or just under it at worse.

I've read newspaper articles which state he is slightly below average height and is sensitive about it, so I always thought of him as 5ft 8ish. Really surprised to find out he's 5ft 10in.

Amazingly, I spotted Angus just now in an episode of 'The Black Adder', taking on a bit part called 'The Jumping Jew of Jerusalem'! Perhaps, though, this 'bit part' would have been better applied to a guy who went by the name of 'Sir Dominick PRIQUE of Stratford'!

Definitely a prancing, dancing 5ft10!

Ah yes! Angus was once known as 'TV's Mr Sex'.
I did prefer 'Have I Got News For You!' when Angus took the chair! They was a far cosier atmosphere back then! I even took to writing to 'Big George', the fellow who wrote the original music for it as he did a blinding rock show on the radio! I asked him all sorts - including his height! He was 6ft1! I wrote to him and Bob Harris regularly. Alas, Big George died the other year. 😿

Personally, I thought Angus was 5ft11 peak height. I even read that he was somewhere, so I am a bit taken aback! I'll give him 5ft10.5 for peak height and 5ft9.75 for today's. It might have upped people's impressions of his stature because the other cast members in the brilliantly original 'One Foot in the Grave' were all pretty short - especially Janine Duvitski, who played his wife!
