Amanda Tapping's Height
5ft 8 ¾ (174.6 cm)
English born Canadian Actress best known for playing Samantha Carter on sci-fi series Stargate SG-1 (and Stargate Atlantis) and for her portrayal of Dr. Helen Magnus on Sanctuary. On a Q&A on her website she gave her height as "5 feet 8 and 3/4 inches." In the LFCC shot we have about same thickness of footwear and in the MCM shot, Amanda has an inch more heel than me.

Old comment, but this is simply not true. You're taking off too much hair from Amanda and not counting Rob's if you think the top of their heads are indistinguishable. There is a good cm difference in the top pic

Besides the fact that there's no universal law that says which height somebody is... the key word is "basically". Rob is 5'8 1/8 at his absolute lowest (he has NEVER measured under that in his whole life), but still tall enough to be considered 5'8.25 in my book, considering that he can measure anywhere around that during that day, depending on the level of activity.
In the same way, even if Amanda dips to 5'8 5/8 (which is possible), 5'8.75 still is a fair listing for her.

She is clearly slightly taller in both photos (higher eye line and hair line) although more in the bottom Im going to guess she had the shoe advatnage in that one. Looks prettier as a brunette.

Given the fact that she has a 1.3 to 1.4 inch footwear advantage, i think she's Rob's height or slightly less. In the photo, she is about 1"-1.25" taller than Rob. Take away her shoes, and she's 5'7 3/4" or 5'8" tops.

Rob's not standing fully straight, infact his posture is quite slack. It's more the fact the woman appears a bit hunched over, if she stood taller there'd be a fair height difference. She's as listed; a tall woman, taller than Jenny even.
