Ran into him at a bar in Raleigh. He actually touched me and told me to move, since I was in his way to order. Didn't get a look at his shoes but he was just shorter than me (I'm 5'7). If our shoes were the same, he was 5'5.5 - 5'6 probably closer to 5'6.

I met him recently at Wizard World Comic Con in Sacramento! He was so nice! I have a pic of us (him, myself, and my friend who is about 5'6 himself). To me he looked 5'6. I say this is 100% accurate. I'm 5'11 and he appeared to be a good 5-ish inches shorter than me. Such a nice guy!

I think Alfonso used to look smaller, because his head is unusually tiny. As years go by, he's gained some weight, and his head/face looks fuller.
When it comes to aesthetics, proportions are far more important than raw numbers, like total weight or height.

Also, when weight training, being shorter is a huge benefit, as you have to lift the weight a much smaller distance than someone tall. Therefore a tall person who couldn't lift as much as a smaller person may be just as strong. This is often demonstrated if you allow the tall person to lift the weight through the same height as a smaller person, so he is not completing one of his "full" lifts.

I think his height fluctuates from day to day,depending on his footwear.It seems likely that some days hes 5'6 and some days hes 5'7.A 5'6 man can wear thick soled boots and manage to pull off 5'8 on a good day.So all this squabbling about whether hes 5'7 or 5'6 or 5'5.75,or whatever decimals you wanna throw in there,is really quite irrelevant.Some days you may be right and another day you may be wrong. But to put things into context,if Alfonso says himself he is 5'7,chances are he is actually 5'6... :)

This whole discussion is funny and kind of stupid to argue about. I spent the weekend with Alfonso at Brett Favre's celebrity golf tournament. He is a very nice guy who is not as short as you guys think. He is easily 5'7' and you can quote me :)

I don't know what shoes Karyn Parsons wore on the show, but she always seemed to be noticeably taller than Alfonso Ribeiro. Not by that much, but enough so that you would never really wonder who was taller.

In the early episodes of fresh prince, Alfonso looked 5'7''. He just as tall as Hillary, maybe even slightly taller. In later episodes, he was noticeably buffer, which may have made him look shorter. After season one, Hilary always looked taller than him. I don't know. Maybe he shrank to 5'5''.

May I also note that Mr. Ribeiro, was indeed marginally taller than our "tall" and "5 foot 10 in heals" Vivacia, Vivica has definately learned to wear her heals since her star has risen, she was shorter than Alfonso during her appereance on Fresh Prince. I've seen Fox here in Toronto where she loves coming, and no way this girl is anything more than 168/169 cm without heals.

May I also note that Mr. Ribeiro, was indeed marginally taller than our "tall" and "5 foot 10 in heals" Vivacia, Vivica has definately learned to wear her heals since her star has risen, she was shorter than Alfonso during her appereance on Fresh Prince. I've seen Fox here in Toronto where she loves coming, and no way this girl is anything more than 168/169 cm without heals.

He's barely above Will Smith's (6'1"-6'2") chin in the Fresh Prince of Belair, I'd say more like 5'5"...and it's pretty standard to lie about your height by 2 inches.
