It also depends on the country or region too. In the west especially, the ideal is obviously taller than places like Asia or South America.

I prefer the term 'a good height' for a woman of her height. Yes, cats will play with anything, and if it involves pulling about on each other or their humans, then so much the better! My big black Pixie, as opposed to my little ginger Pixie, swished about on my hair. It's grown so much in the last year that he'd have a ball with it now, bless him!

@ Christian - Yes, I remember Rob's classic favourite male height being 6ft1-2. I vote for 5ft6 as my personal favourite female height because I used to be able to walk about with very high shoes and be round about that height and felt so much more confident.

One year fairly recently, some Halloween pranksters kicked our door in and I had to call the locksmith out. He remarked on my 'shortarse' and 'midget' height. It was before my operation, so I was around 5ft-5ft1. I joked back with him and was upset that I was in too much pain to wear high heels at the time when I went out. Nowadays, I can't wear skyscrapers, but I can wear shoes which make me just over 5ft3. They're about 3" and the measurement was taken in Sainsbury's by the school uniform section.

Yes, for me it's 5ft6, but I'm sure youngsters favour a taller height.

@ fddf - Alexa has a BMI of 18.4, so she is just about underweight, but not massively so. She looks good at that weight, so as long as she can function well, which, being an actress, she clearly can, she's okay. Anything under 17.5 is considered 'anorexic', though true anorexia is a state of mind.

Btw, I wonder what the most popular vote for the ideal female height would be, if a poll was made. Rob did a poll once a long time ago for males, and the most popular were 6'1"-6'2".

@ Christian - My Stepmum was 5ft6 and no one ever referred to her as 'tall' or even 'quite tall', but definitely 'a good height'. I agree with that statement, and think it's possibly the ideal female height.
