American actor and footballer, best remembered for playing George Papadapolis in TV series Webster. In film he appeared in Blazing Saddles, Victor Victoria and Against all Odds. He once mentioned in his slimmer days "I weighed 200 lbs [and] stood Six Feet even"

To be clear, the claim of being 6' and 200 pounds was about when he was in high school.

I think he was like Steve Young, 6ft and change but rounds down

I’ll take his word for six feet even, even though he did look more 6’2” with 5’11.5” Cleavon Little in Blazing Saddles, it was probably his imposing figure. Anyway, I’m glad and pleasantly surprised that Karras lived a long time, 77 years is a long life.

184cm possibly, Rob?

If he claimed six feet even, I'm not so sure I'd give him 184 🤨 😎

Hmm. Karras is listed elsewhere on the 'net at six foot two and is said to have played at 248 pounds. I have just seen the movie Paper Lion, in which Karras plays himself, and his claimed weight is 267 pounds. Which seems a little high.

Alex Karras looked like a giant next to the 4’3” Emmanuel Lewis, but he appeared about an inch shorter than the 6’1” James Garner who was 54-years-old in The film ‘Victor/Victoria’ in 1982. Karras’ “Webster” co-star Susan Clark was 5’9”, and she often wore heels, making her look about the same height as Karras. I’d say Alex Karras was 6’0” peak.

Karras played on the line in the NFL at 240 pounds, and was openly derided for being too small.

An honest claim perhaps, he sure could look a bigger guy in some roles like Blazing Saddles just based on his beefy build I guess. In Victor/Victoria, maybe comes out half an inch or so under James Garner.

Maybe as listed with James Belushi.

If anything he looks to be rounding up based on here with Jeff Bridges, maybe he's standing a bit poorer or in lower terrain there.

Joe Montana was listed 6ft2 and he was considerably shorter than that

Pretty rare for NFL to exaggerate a player by 2 inches. NFL heights are relatively more accurate than other sport organizations.

Good actor, taller than I'd thought.

Shadow asked about him 5 years ago on his wife's page, who claimed 5ft 9. He was billed 6ft 2 during his footall days...
