I've never said that 5'8 is "very short", and in fact I still consider it within average, albeit below. As for Alessandro's son, I haven't seen that much of him, but he gave me a shortish impression when I saw him sometime ago, certainly below average. Unfortunately, I haven't found any good photo of him and Alessandro yet, but it would be interesting to see how they stack up to each other.
P.S. This has nothing to do with the discussion, but since it's been mentioned before... Giallini did claim 188 in an interview.

I’m Italia and I’ve watched many movies where he played a central role. Personally I think 6’3.5/192cm is too much for him...maybe a morning height. I think he might be in the 6’3/191cm zone. Both 6’2.75” and 6’3” are fine for him. About Giallini I think he might be in the 6’1-2 range. Sometimes he looks only 6’1/185cm (what he probably claimed) but others he looks taller.
I know only that he looks a good amount taller than Silvio Muccino. A friend of mine who is as tall as me (182cm) met Silvio Muccino in 2010 and took a picture with him. In the picture the friend of mine looked a shy taller than him but maybe the cause was the posture. I asked him how tall Silvio was and he replied that the actor was as tall as him so I really think Silvio Muccino is 5’11.75/182cm tall.

As i said, he can look barely 6'2 in many photos or videos but his posture is horrible at times... I doubt he'd measure under 6'3 if he stood straight for a measurement! He's no less than 4.25 inches taller than a guy like Raoul Bova, so 6'3.5 seems a good guess!

Rob, but this thing that a guy doesnt stand as tall as he could, you could apply to every celeb that look taller, like Tom Welling. He probably measured almost 6'3 not standing tall, if he stood tall he'd be over 6'3 and that's explained why he looks taller

i saw him once. He's a strong 6 ft 2.75 in/190 cm. His father Vittorio Gassman was probably 6 ft 1.5 in/187 cm at his peak, and then he lost a good inche (my dad, who was 6 ft 2.5 in/189 cm at his peak, took a pic with him in 1965 and the actor was slightly shorter)...in 'Sleepers' he was in the 5 ft 11.5/182 cm - 6 ft 0.5/184 cm range...
