Pullman had an easy 1in+ on Baldwin in Malice. I think he had a shot at 6ft1¼ in the 90's so that would still align with Alec being almost 6ft zone. Bill was originally here at 6ft1½ which he could look at times. Similar to Will Smith in Independence Day.

In Glengarry Glen Ross he appears an easy 6ft. Plus he was very close to Pullman in 'Malice' and stood at least the same height as Dennis Quaid. I honestly reckon 5ft 11.75in is absolutely possible for his peak.

Agree there, Rampage. I think 5ft 11⅝ (182 cm or so on the nose) could be perfect for peak Baldwin. And while I think all of the guys you mentioned hit 182 cm, I'm starting to think Quaid was actually 5ft 11½ peak - a smidge below William Fichtner (who in my eyes peaked at 182-183 cm).

I haven't seen Great Balls of Fire in years. That's perfect though as you got both Baldwin and Quaid in their prime. Could be a toss up there. Willis is another guy in the Die Hard days could have measured nearer 6ft. In Mercury Rising he looked taller than Alec but might've worn boots in that scene where he kicks him.
All in all, I think Baldwin, Quaid, Liotta and Willis were in and around that solid 182cm mark

The funny thing about Alec is that while a pretty big star, he still always went out of his way to be recognized. A few examples would be speaking loudly on his cellphone, going out in public to read a newspaper while sitting in front of active businesses, making small talk while standing in line and starting conversations by asking questions to things he could likely figure out on his own. At 5'11", his height alone didn't make him noticeable.
Of course, I'm sure he's trying to avoid being recognized in public these days.

Alec was always about 5'11" flat and just claimed 6' while his brother Stephen is only about 5'8.5" and claims 5'10". I have no doubt about this. Alec looked taller on screen in his prime than he really was back in the 80s, but look at him with Kevin Bacon and you'll see he really wasn't much taller.
I'm less certain of DiCaprio's height, but Alec could look shorter even in the early 2000s. I would guess both men are/were 5'11" flat, but definitely closer to 5'11" than 6'.

Saw him at a jazz club in Los Angeles interviewing Butch Walker (musician/producer) for an NPR show...
When he got up and walked by (being a fan of THIS site) I stood up to see how Alec measured up these days..
His posture isn't the greatest, and he has the start of that neck at 45 degrees semi - osteoporosis syndrome that sets in in middle age...I would guess he was north of 5'10", but not near 6'...pity, his wife is a yoga instructor, and they are all about posture...it looked as if he would easily pick up an inch if he straightened out...also, he is getting puffy (too many trump impersonations?) so that doesn't help either..

I agree that he looked tall in Miami blues. This is why I don't buy 5'11 for Russell Crowe or Brad Pitt. They never look tall to me. They just come across average height guys trying to look tall.

there is something with his knees. in every photo of him in last 5-7 years his legs are a little bent. it could be the reason he looks shorter. look at the photo above for example.standing tall he could possible be over 5`11 still. peak i still go with 182,5 he could look almost tallish sometimes. 181,5 is to short

I bet Ford was more than an inch, perhaps an inch and a half taller than Baldwin in their prime and there's still probably not much of a difference between the 2 standing straight. Certainly, Alec would trade his career for Fords. This isn't to say Alec hasn't had a good career, but people will be watching Ford's films long after we're all gone.

Yeah, that was weird with Baldwin's grudge against Ford and his physical belittling of Ford was off-the-mark. Even today, when Ford has had more serious injuries and about 16 extra years and has thus lost more height, I'd doubt Baldwin would be any taller than Ford, scrawny is also a bit off too as I'd say Ford has a fairly medium build if not the beefy, at times chunky, frame Baldwin has gotten in middle age. I don't think Ford has the nicest reputation, he seems to enjoy being viewed as a crankpot, but Baldwin himself comes off as needy/attention-seeking and maddeningly egotistical which can at times undermine his acting talent. Oh well, I still find him way more likable and human than Trump lol

my best guess was in 2005 when I saw him on Broadway near 77th. was about 5 9 1/2 -to 5 10. We were in front of the Manhattan Diner waiting for the crosswalk light to change. I was behind him in line at Reagan national airport I am 6ft tall he was close to same height. When shoes where removed for security he became a at least two inches shorter. Plus add in the fact he combs his hair up at least an inch. He is maybe 5'10"

I'd place Baldwin at 179/180cm and Cook at 182/183cm.

What are you basing this on exactly? If this is truly your stance then you need to provide evidence that he's lifting, because I'm telling you the man was a few inches taller than me at 5'11 when I was standing right next to him.
